If you thought the first one was impressive...

Mobile sends an SP and two minor league 5-star phenoms:

SP Avery Sparks
2B Earnest Bonilla (AA)
3B Mario Brown (A)

to Springfield for:

SP Tony Freakin' Vieira
SP Jose Laureano (AA)

Springfield agrees to this trade. Good luck to Scott.

Good luck to Tom as well. Springfield may have a stellar infield in a couple of years. Both 5-stars prospects have superior range in the field combined with power at the plate.

That was alot to give up. But, Vieira is arguably the best in the game right now to complement what is already the #1 pitching staff in Mobile. I cannot help but admit we're salivating at the prospect of a Vieira-Nathanson 1-2 punch in the playoffs. Combined with the offensive improvements coming from Albany, we're in this one for the long haul.

Completed. Wow. Vieira to a team that just 5 game swept the season long SA 1st place team. Though Sparks was a big part of that. Interestly enough, the headliners each turned in dominant performances in their 2nd to last games, but tanked in their last games with their original teams. Word must have gotten out.

Springfield was in a tough spot as Viera wanted nothing to do with this team at the end of this season. He wanted a winner.

We got a good pitcher in Sparks and 2 prospect infielders who can field. Worth the rist, we hope.

Vieira didn't have a choice. He's under arbitration control for the next 2 years.
